About the project

Josh Durham - Hate Crime Officer for Wyre and Lancaster District Hate Crime project.

Wyre and Lancaster District Hate Crime project is funded by the Big Lottery, Lancaster Local Strategic Partnership and Wyre Council. It is the only project of its kind in the North West, where the hate crime officer works in partnership with the police but is independent of them.

The aim of the project is to raise awareness about hate crime and encourage victims and witnesses to report. We know that many victims and witnesses of hate crime are reluctant to report directly to the police.

The project has set up 'third party reporting agencies' in Wyre and Lancaster District to report hate crime. You can also report via this website and ask for no police involvement if you wish.

We deliver free hate crime awareness sessions in schools as well as agencies in the voluntary and statutory sector. If you are interested in training please contact Josh Durham.
